This self-published Riso zine, Finding Yourself by Getting Lost visually interprets dérive as a core creative design approach. Inspired by Guy Debord’s concept, the project centers on purposeful urban drifting, observing, and absorbing the unique feelings evoked by different spaces. As I explored Rotterdam, I intentionally set aside expectations, allowing my interest to guide my observations and photography. The zine reveals how this process changed my perspective, highlighting overlooked details and forming a deeper connection with the city. It offers a glimpse into how I see the world and what sparks my design sensibility. The choice of Riso printing reflects the spontaneous and authentic beauty of this exploration, mirroring the unique textures and unpredictable nature of the urban environment. This project highlights my ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible visual narratives, showcasing innovative thinking and a deep commitment to process-driven design.
