Discovery of Self started from a personal sense of duality. It is a site-specific zine exploring the interplay between comfort and the unknown. I documented this through intuitive walks in two contrasting settings: the mysterious, inaccessible Port of Rotterdam (representing the unknown) and comforting home environments in Switzerland and Rotterdam (representing comfort). All images were taken with analog photography. This choice made me truly focus on each shot, making each photo a documentation of a very authentic moment. Next to photographs, I also gathered insights through text and audio by journaling and recording myself and my surroundings. The zine's creation process mirrored my research; it was intuitive and experimental, layering all elements to show how opposite feelings coexist.
