As an in-house graphic designer at Skateland, I was responsible for a wide range of marketing and business operations materials. I created everything from booklets and brochures to infographics and signage. One of my favorite projects was designing a booklet for the Skateland Skate Academy, a skate school for children aged 6 to 17. For this project, I created custom illustrations to be used throughout the booklet, as well as for stickers and flyers. The central character, a cockroach on a skateboard, was inspired by a Skateland instructor who shared a fun fact with me: the "kakkerlak" (Dutch for cockroach) is a proud, ironic nickname for Rotterdammers, symbolizing their unique, resilient, and down-to-earth spirit. I also designed a brochure and posters to promote Street Masters, an educational program held at Skateland. This initiative focuses on urban sports and culture for Rotterdam youth, including students from the Grafisch Lyceum.
